Dead Snow: Best Movie Concept of the Year

(from Bloody Disgusting)

Do you like movies with Nazi villains?  What about zombies?  What about…

This trailer for Dead Snow, a Norwegian comedic horror that was selected for this year’s Sundance Festival, is worth a look.  (Bloody Disgusting has more still pictures from the movie, like the one above.)

The tagline?   “Ein! Zwei! Die!”

(Thanks, Maciek, for passing it along.)

My guess is that the production meeting went something like this:

Stig Frode Henriksen:  Who are the most terrifying villains you can think of, Tommy?

Tommy Wirkola:  Wellll, zombies just don’t stop.  You can’t hurt them.  That’s pretty scary.

Stig Frode Henriksen:  Fair ‘nuf.  But what could you do to make zombies even scarier?

Tommy Wirkola:  Make them closer to real life?

Stig Frode Henriksen:  Yeah, you can’t really do that, though, because zombies could never exist.

Tommy Wirkola:   Good call.  What if we made them a special type of zombie?  What’s evil that does exist?

Stig Frode Henriksen:  Uhhh, Nazis?Tommy Wirkola:  That’s just stu—  Wait.  What’d you say?

Stig Frode Henriksen:  Nazis.

Tommy Wirkola:  Stig Frode Henriksen, you’re a genius.
